A message from the City
Manager's Desk
Welcome to the City of Holtville’s web site. Holtville is a warm and
welcoming city with a traditional small town flavor centered around our
historic Holt Park and City Hall. This web site is to provide you with
a brief overview of this quaint community and the opportunities we can
provide for you, your family and your business enterprise.
Holtville has a population of 6,000 and is ideally situated 120 miles
east of San Diego, 225 miles southeast of Los Angeles, and 40 miles west
of Yuma Arizona. Holtville is only 10 miles north of Mexicali, Mexico
with easy border access through the east port of entry on the new State
Highway 7, which connects to Interstate 8 at Holtville. Mexicali is the
capital of Baja California, Mexico with a population of over one million
people. Holtville has the ideal location to take advantage of
opportunities afforded by NAFTA, with plenty of land available for
development north of the border at the intersection of State Highway 7
Interstate 8.
Economic development and business enterprises in the City are starting
to take off as Holtville offers easy access to the large metropolitan
areas in Mexico, California and Arizona; little or no traffic
congestion; planned infrastructure improvements designed for expansion,
and friendly well-trained City personnel providing excellent city
services. We are a full service city with low crime rates, good
schools, a library, 14 different churches, recreational programs, three
parks, and a community swimming pool. We invite you to visit us and
learn more about our friendly town.
Thank
you for visiting and if you have any questions or suggestions to improve
the way we deliver the information, please call (760) 356-2912 or e-mail
us at mail@holtville.ca.gov
